Tengachaya Stays and Area Guide

Tengachaya, Nishinari Ward, Osaka (compiled 2026-09-28; availability and rates follow the live quote on each property's booking page)

Tengachaya Station sits in Nishinari Ward, Osaka. Nankai Electric Railway and the Osaka Metro Sakaisuji Line both stop here, Namba is two stops away by train, and Nankai Electric Railway runs to Kansai International Airport with no change of train. 7mori has two whole-house rentals within walking distance of this station: Mientsuki no Mori is a 7-minute walk and sleeps 2 to 12, Yamayakyo a 9-minute walk and sleeps 1 to 10. Both are rented as a whole house, so you never share with strangers. Each comes with free parking, and the minimum stay is 2 nights.

Where you can go from Tengachaya

The advantage of this station is that you rarely change trains. Two stops north is Namba, where you can shop, eat, and pick up the Kintetsu or Hanshin lines. South of here runs the Nankai airport line, and both the Rapi:t limited express and the airport express stop at Tengachaya, so you never haul luggage up and down through Namba Station. For Kyoto, the Sakaisuji Line runs through onto Hankyu Railway trains from the same platform.

Compared with the other 7mori houses, these two run on Nankai Electric Railway. Laforet Namba South is a 1-minute walk from Hanazonocho Station on the Osaka Metro Yotsubashi Line, and our site lists about 4 minutes to Namba by car. La Forêt Yamanakadani is a 7-minute walk from Izumi-Tottori Station on the JR Hanwa Line, with a direct line to Tennoji but no direct train to Namba. Tengachaya is the station that reaches both Namba and Kansai International Airport without a change. The Kansai Airport Access Guide covers the airport routes.

Driving works out the same for both houses. Our property pages list about 3 minutes to Shinsekai and Tsutenkaku, about 4 minutes to Namba and Dotonbori, about 6 minutes to Nipponbashi and Tennoji Zoo, about 12 minutes to Shinsaibashi, about 30 minutes to Universal Studios Japan, and about 50 minutes to Kyoto. Both houses have free parking: the Mientsuki no Mori whole-house booking comes with a dedicated space, and Yamayakyo has a dedicated space, so drivers do not have to find a paid car park.

On the way to Tengachaya Station you pass Matsudacho Station on the Hankai Tramway, 1 minute from Mientsuki no Mori and 2 minutes from Yamayakyo. If you would rather not walk the whole way, that tram ride takes 1 to 2 minutes.

Add the walk when you work out travel times. Tengachaya Station is 7 minutes from one house and 9 from the other, so door to door to Shinsaibashi is the roughly 12 minutes our site lists plus 7 to 9 minutes, and to Namba it is about 4 minutes plus 7 to 9 minutes.

What's within walking distance

Both houses sit in residential back streets on the east side of Tengachaya. Step outside and you are in an ordinary neighborhood, not a tourist strip. Mientsuki no Mori is at 1-9-23 Tengachaya and Yamayakyo at 2-14-30-5 Tengachaya Higashi, less than a ten-minute walk apart. The shops and restaurants the two use are almost the same. What differs is how many minutes away they are, and which side the supermarket falls on. The walking times below are the reference figures listed on our property pages.

Around Mientsuki no Mori

Matsudacho Station on the Hankai Tramway is 1 minute on foot, and the same block has a supermarket, a sento bathhouse, a sushi restaurant, a ramen shop, and takoyaki. A 7-Eleven is 3 minutes away, a Lawson 4 minutes, and a drugstore, a 100-yen shop, a cafe, and a McDonald's 5 minutes. Tengachaya Station is a 7-minute walk.

The supermarket and the sento are both inside a minute, so restocking food or soaking in a large bath means stepping out the front door. Every room type has a fitted kitchen and a washing machine, and the house has a bathtub, smart bathroom air conditioning, a 65-inch smart TV, and a bidet toilet. The whole-house booking has 2 bathrooms. By car, it is about 3 minutes to Shinsekai and Tsutenkaku, about 6 minutes to Tennoji Zoo, about 6 minutes to Nipponbashi, about 12 minutes to Shinsaibashi, about 30 minutes to Universal Studios Japan, and about 50 minutes to Kyoto.

Around Yamayakyo

Matsudacho Station is 2 minutes on foot. Within 4 minutes you reach a yakiniku restaurant, a sushi restaurant, a ramen shop, a sento, and takoyaki. A 7-Eleven and a Lawson are 5 minutes away, a drugstore, a 100-yen shop, a cafe, and a McDonald's 6 minutes, and the supermarket 8 minutes. Tengachaya Station is a 9-minute walk.

That 8-minute supermarket walk is the longest of the five houses, so buy what you need before check-in if you plan to cook. The house is 97 m² with three bedrooms, rented whole, and the private bath, 2 toilets, living room, fitted kitchen, dining area, and balcony are all under the one roof. It has a washer-dryer combo, a bathtub, a 55-inch smart TV, a microwave, a rice cooker, an oven, a fridge, and air conditioning, with the dedicated free parking space at the door. Driving times are the same part of town as Mientsuki no Mori: about 3 minutes to Shinsekai and Tsutenkaku, about 6 minutes to Tennoji Zoo, and about 4 minutes to Namba and Dotonbori.

The supermarket is the main difference between the two. At Mientsuki no Mori the supermarket and the sento are both 1 minute away. At Yamayakyo the yakiniku place and the convenience stores are 4 to 5 minutes and the supermarket 8. Cook in the house and Mientsuki no Mori is the easier one. Eat out every meal and there is little between them.

Houses in this area

The two are sold differently. At Mientsuki no Mori you can book a single room type: Forest Swan for four, Arashi Moon for eight, or the whole house once the group is larger. Yamayakyo is whole-house only, one group at a time, and 1 to 4 guests all pay the same rate.

Picking by group size is quicker. For four people, Forest Swan is ¥18,000 on a weekday and the Yamayakyo 1-to-4 tier is ¥20,000, which covers the whole 97 m² house and the parking space. For eight, Arashi Moon is ¥24,000 on a weekday and its three bedrooms split eight people; the Yamayakyo 5-to-8 tier is ¥29,000 and its three bedrooms hold 8 single beds, one each. For nine or ten, only Yamayakyo has the extra-bed option, where the 9th and 10th guests use the fold-out sofa bed in the living room and 10 is the limit. For eleven or more, the Mientsuki no Mori whole house is the only choice in this area, with a base of 12 guests. Which House for Your Group Size sets out the breakdown.

Current published rates (2026-07, weekday / weekend, where weekend means a Friday or Saturday check-in night): Mientsuki no Mori Forest Swan ¥18,000 / ¥19,900 with a ¥9,000 cleaning fee; Arashi Moon ¥24,000 / ¥26,000 with a ¥12,000 cleaning fee; the whole house ¥33,000 / ¥37,000 with a ¥15,000 cleaning fee. Yamayakyo 1 to 4 guests ¥20,000 / ¥24,000 with a ¥9,000 cleaning fee; 5 to 8 guests ¥29,000 / ¥32,000 with a ¥15,000 cleaning fee; from the 9th guest ¥3,000 per person per night, up to 10 guests. The cleaning fee is charged once per booking. Check the booking page for the live quote.

There are two ways to book: instant online booking, or the official LINE account. Mientsuki no Mori books at moon.7-mori.com and Yamayakyo on its booking page on this site, and each house has its own LINE account. Ask about guest numbers, extra beds, and date changes on LINE before you book. Both houses are also listed on Booking.com and Airbnb, while this site and LINE are the direct channels. A quote is made up of the room rate, any extra-bed charge, and the cleaning fee. The weekend rate is decided by the night you check in, so a booking that crosses a weekend mixes weekday and weekend nights.

Check-in is after 16:00 and check-out before 11:00 at both houses, with a minimum of 2 nights. There is no front desk and check-in is self-service throughout. At 10:00 on the day of arrival you get the location, the guest registration form, and the code for the front-door keypad lock by LINE or email. From 11:00 that day you can leave luggage in the entrance. Please keep valuables with you, as we cannot take responsibility for stored items. Support is handled by real staff in Chinese, Japanese, English, and Korean through each house's official LINE account.

Once a booking is confirmed we cannot accept cancellations except for force majeure such as a natural disaster, but you can move the stay to another date within 6 months, and the charge date shifts with the new check-in date. Both houses are legally registered in Japan under National Strategic Special Zone lodging certification (special-zone minpaku): Mientsuki no Mori is 大阪市指令 大保環第25-4134号 and Yamayakyo is 大保環第25-4059号, both issued by the City of Osaka. The full list of numbers is on the About Us page.
